if you keep on bringing out these minor updates you'll eventually reach 0.15.99 and have no choice but to bring out 0.16.0

That's not how their version numbering works, they can just do 0.15.100

So then we need to wait for them to get to 15.999?
They better hurry up with those updates then.

I think it will be after 0.15.65535 or 0.15.4294967295 (depending on what versioning system in use).

Okay, that might take a while. How quickly can you automatically compile and deploy new versions? Make something to automatically change the version number, recompile, and deploy. We can get it done in a few weeks at most, right?
I just checked, and it looks like
you can compile about 3 versions per minute, so if you have the script changing the versions and the deployer running in parallel, we could finish this in about 2 weeks. The only other possible limiting factor is interent speed, if you have to re-upload the whole thing for every release, or even multiple times (to Steam or some other server or something). I just looked and the Windows zip is 621 megabytes, so as long as you have an internet upload speed of about 80 megabytes per second - which is definately possible - you can easily upload it to Steam and another server with time to spare (so you can use the internet for other stuff too or something). 0.16 can still be out before Christmas!

Just blueprint up the machines doing the compilation and deployment work, and stamp them down next to each other. It can be done in minutes!

You might need an input train to supply CPUs at that point.

I got a good laugh out of all your replies.
Seriously though, 0.16 will be out when it is READY. The staff wants to get it out to us all, too. We can't test it until it is out, right? Be patient.

in December would be nice. A lot of people have lots of time and after vacations they can fix the reported bugs. (win win for all)^^

Do we need to know about this?
Clump it all together with stuff that you do in the next month.
That would mean less mess!

I'm afraid that the limit isn't set by them. It's part of the windows version resource format.

Factorio is a "Early Access Title", but more stable and complete than a lot of "Fullprice" Title from Big Devs like EA, Bethesda and ~
