I duly hope the rumor comes true and the long awaited upgrade for the line, the 2016 macBook Pro will ship in early October.
I stand ready with my wallet.
Has anybody more info on any news for a upcoming MacBook Pro?
Sorry...
Sorry I find this a little on the funny side
Only Mac users seam to have this worry!
ie will my cable I bought with the last Mac work with my new Mac, which then results in "dam! they changed the pin configuration again"
mean while PC guy finds 20year old VGA cable in shed, plugs it in and it just works
Apple sets the pace in industry design & development and PC users are lagging always 20 years behind.
Probably the 2008 black PC cable works still today on a dusty PC but certainly not a single standard out of the box 2008 PC "still works and does the job".tehroach wrote: besides it wont be till 2020, before a $6000 Power Mac will be released with the equivalent specs to compete with my current $2000 PC.
--EDIT--
Oh! WOW, I didn't realize when I originally wrote this, just how many people had already beaten me to the punch line

I find this design choice very questionable guys.

All of this would be quite worrisome, but then I just relax while swimming in a milk lake or climbing a butter mountain.brunzenstein wrote:Me not.malecord wrote:So it's true: if you run a multiplayer game with at least one irish player on Factorio 0.14 4 Mac, all the other european players playing on mac pay only 0.005% of the total cost of recipes, fuel and electricity.

That's the way healthy capitalism works according to the rules set by private shareholders (in a general hostile socialistic environment like the EU) within a given legal state framework. Its the core duty of any CEO to find the most profitable but still legal way to pay the least possible taxes, do business profitable and increase the shareholders value. Thats what a company in a free world is about and Apple has done - thanks god, in order to survive. Thats how modern "Marktwirtschaft" functions - unless you dwell in North Korea. Finer morality views have no value in a brutal commercial theater.
Nowadays problems stems not from to less taxes paid but by illegal use of mountains of taxpayers money by incompetent bank, fat government and EU bueurocrats.
Actually, to give any state crook more money is a subsidies of illicit business

Seriously your making my sides hurt, you can't seriously believe this?brunzenstein wrote:Probably the 2008 black PC cable works still today on a dusty PC but certainly not a single standard out of the box 2008 PC "still works and does the job".
Well I don't know about 2008 but I have 2 from 2007 sitting right behind me that play Factorio smoothly.brunzenstein wrote:"tehroach's" statement is, with all due respect Sir, wishful thinking and not reflecting real world experience. Thats a unicorn on a cloud. I have yet two see any standard, not upgraded or anyhow mended vintage out of the original box dated 2008 PC running Factorio smoothly today under the 2016 Windows version.
9 times out of 10 if you drop it the screen breaks.brunzenstein wrote:My, one from a single block of aluminium carved out (not cheaply pressed) 2008 MacBook runs the most recent 2016 Apple OS "El Capitan" 10.11.6 with elegance and Factorio like a breeze. I did not invest a penny since 2008, change or upgrade anything on the Mac besides I installed two times weak batteries and gave it once a bigger harddisc.
I never knew that Apple developed an AI program to operate a magnet?brunzenstein wrote:And yes - also the elegant slim white magnet save release power cable on my MacBook (not the clunky black fat unintelligent PC one) works too...
I am quite pedantic when it comes to selecting my hardware, but I am yet to come across an instance where Apple are just not blown out of the water in a "bang for your buck" contest.brunzenstein wrote:So Apple seems to be a pretty good long term investment even for small purses - if you dare to give the matter a good hard look.
You do realize the only reason they change the pin configuration in the first place is so they can sell said adapter.brunzenstein wrote:PS: For any forward looking change in the connector wiring there is always a adapter from Apple available.
remind me "never to drink your whiskey"brunzenstein wrote:So the long term value of a Mac is like a good old whiskey. Getting better by the day.
For the most part a house brick could serve all the same valuable functions as these two boat anchors.brunzenstein wrote:By the way - my fanless (soundless) Mac cube bought 2000 (standing in the museum of modern art) is still woking in my office as Fax server. And if I would switch on my 1989 SE/30 he would still come alive and still run - ok the floppies are no more but basically I could write a letter like on a Underwood.
This phenomenon has always puzzled me as to why Apple-fanboys can get suckered so easily.brunzenstein wrote:If I would sell it I could get nearly the price I paid for - try to sell a vintage PC.
