[1.0.0] Furnaces occasionally jam with a few items in them

In a multiplayer game with my friend, I have a smelter that takes in a variety of items to a long line of furnaces. Since starting it I've noticed that it occasionally gets stuck on one item and won't smelt it or accept a different item until I remove the item being smelted. (also doesn't work to remove and reinsert the item)

Furnaces smelt any ore you put in them. However, when you insert one iron ore into a furnace, inserters are smart enough not to put any ore other than iron into that furnace. The only way to make inserters insert copper ore into a furnace that had iron ore before, is to remove both the iron ore and the iron plates. That is by design and not a bug.
If you mean something different is the issue, we need more context. For example screenshots or a savegame.
