[Dominik] [0.17.34] Access Violation, when placing pipe

hello

i have uploaded pretty much my hole factorio folder in appdata\roaming\factorio\ except for a few auto-save to save some mb in the archive.

i was placing a pipe to connect to a fuel burner and it spit out the access violation error.

i replicated the error by trying to replace the pipe. hopefully the savegame should load where i wanted to connect the pipe.

- thanks for your time and thanks for the bug fixing =)

-removed because its apparently useless-
(notice: archive is around 217mb)

That's...not how you submit files for bug reports.

I'm extracting the log+dump right now, will attach them to this post, mainly so the devs don't have to download and extract that large archive which was unneccessary to make in the first place.

EDIT:

in my browser the archive opens up, so i can pick and choose what files i want. i was figuring thats what other browsers would do as well...

edit: oh and btw...
252.627 Error Util.cpp:97: Unexpected error occurred. If you're running the latest version of the game you can help us solve the problem by posting the contents of the log file on the Factorio forums.
Please also include the save file(s), any mods you may be using, and any steps you know of to reproduce the crash.

I may be wrong, but if I remember right, you can't actually click on specific files to open/download them, just view their names; you still have to download the whole archive.

That's what the case was for me as well.

Hi, it's great it is reproducible, but not without the save. Can I have it?

sadly im not sure what good its going to do now, due to other participants (cough*TruePikachu*cough**cough*<badword-removed>*cough*) in this thread i have since deleted that archive. no idea what happened, but i was able to continue my game a few days later. (no updates to mods, game or... maybe windows).

i have created a new archive with my current progress and mods, i havnt updated to 0.17.35 due to incomparability to mods.

hopefully this will still be useful in some way, if not i do truly apologise for wasting your time

Firstly, I've reported the PM you sent to me, which was completely and utterly uncalled for. Secondly, the thread How to report a bug - READ BEFORE POSTING goes into detail about how you need to provide attachments. Thirdly, other users have confirmed that you can't independently download the files from the archive you had uploaded -- the download was all-or-nothing, and anyone wanting a quick look at the backtrace or crashdump probably doesn't want to be forced to download the entire map as well, especially if they're on a slow or metered network connection at the moment.

Is the issue still reproducable in that savefile, under 0.17.34?

I am sorry it has developed this way. Although I don't see why you had to remove the archive, pikachu pulled the log out for you.
Yes, I will need the save and a way to reproduce it. I can't realistically try to play the save and click on everything hoping to find it. So please, try if you can reproduce it and let me know how it goes.
