you can't see it, touch it or shoot at it, and it doesn't attack,
in fact, I don't think it is there, only the map still thinks it is.

here is a savefile, he's standing very close.

I'm on vanilla 0.17.26 and I can't repro the bug dot when loading your save. Could it be due to a mod?

It will vanish if you go there or radar scans it.
You can see this a lot near biter bases or along attack vectors where you went personally. Minimap remembers last state you have seen - it doesn't update in real time.
This leads to "lines" of red dots sometimes where it seen biter and then you left the area. Or something along those lines :D

I think this is more likely. After an artillery shelling I often see "historical" biters which already died after running themselves against my walls showing up beyond radar range that were revealed by the en-route artillery shells. Here's an example (none of the biter swarms are actually still there)

but when opening the save, you are standing next to it, within radar range, so it should update right away

Precisely, I see no dots on vanilla (as in my last post) so I suspect it may be due to a mod. Did you try loading the save in a fresh vanilla download?

yes, and it was gone, but I'm still sleepy :P
so tomorrow I try to figure out which mod is doing this

today I tried turning mods on and off, but I can't figure out which mod is doing this.
when I enable the first half it's not there.
when I enable the second half and turn the first half off, it's also not there.
so apparently it's the combination of all these mods in the save.
I'ts not a game breaking bug anyway, so I think I let it go.
I'm done restarting the game for half an hour :D
