[15.19] Game Crashed: Upgrading to Passive Provider Chest

What did you do?
While playing a multiplayer game, I upgraded an existing Steel Chest to a Passive Provider Chest.
What happened?
Immediately, the game desync'ed, tried to reconnect and catch me up, and then crashed. My partner concurs with these events.
What did you expect to happen instead? It might be obvious to you, but do it anyway!
I expected the chest to upgrade without any problems and I expected the game not to desync and crash.

The desync - please upload the desync report.

Thanks for the desync report. Have you been able to reproduce the desync in the latest verseion of the game? The desync report turned out to not be of any use in this instance and we've fixed several desync problems since 0.15.19.

Thanks for your response.
Are desync reports generated whenever Factorio is trying to "catch up?" If so, can and will upload further desync reports as they occur. Otherwise, Factorio has been very stable. This is the one and only instance of Factorio crashing for me.

They are generated after redownloading the map after the desync occurred. The crash is not the interesting part, the desync is.
