[0.16.16] Crash: "Error Rail.cpp:356: Removal of trains over rail unsucessful."

Post by BHakluyt »

Hi there. The game told me to send you this stuff...

Conveniently autosave happened about 1m before crash. Log in as BHakluyt for the save and you will be next to a digital meter I placed down to test another mod. Connect one power pole. Connect it to the lower network of graph displays so it reads that power. (basically placed the pole where I was standing.) Waited for it to charge a few minutes and the pressed "M" to check around *on my map* *edit* while waiting...and BOOM! CRASH!

EDIT - Obviously can't reproduce. In my game it happens a lot that when opening the map the game lag for a split second. Maybe too much mods. Anyways maybe this is useful, maybe probably not...

Yeah I know M is for map. I said thats what I did, (sort of...clarified 1st post - thanks) wanted to browse my map while waiting. Pressed M and the pc hanged a little bit and then popped out crash window menu thingy.

looks like the mod tries to use uppercase letters or other stuff.

Will that fit? I mean, can I upload it on this post? And since I have disabled global warming mod. Its just too hectic for an existing base.

What I also did before that crash about 2min before was change mod equipment hotkeys...changed hotkeys to numpad 3, 6 and 9...

I will try to upload it here if I can. The mods that are running now... but all my mods are as per modlist and not custom modified at all in this game. So downloading the latest of each from ingame portal should give you the same result.

Does that sync mods with aave button not work or why do you want my mods folder? Data is expensive here man.

"Removal of train over rail unsecessful... I know what happened!!! At least, I think so. Mylon's global warming probably removed a rail by flooding my land exactly when a train was on that rail?

Thanks for the report. Do you have any way to reproduce the crash?

Hi Rseding

Sorry for never replying. I removed Mylon's global warming mod after that crash because my game just had too much pollution. But basically the crash can be reproduced based on the chance that a train is on a piece of rail when global warming flood that specific area, remove the rail and then can't remove the train. Guess it's not really a bug, some checks must just be implemented (by Factorio? By Mylon's mod?) not to remove rail when train is on it and just not do anything and wait a bit. Anyways... thanks for an awesome game and being the best developers ever that I've come across.
