Because I'd rather have the games mentionned in this forum for their similarities with Factorio all together in the same topic, instead of tens of topics with people advertising for their favorite "if you like Factorio you might like this game too" game.

Moreover, if the game was already mentionned in this topic, why did you create a new one ? Why not give your opinion in the game by quoting who has posted about it ?

Because it is about possibly giving their kickstarter a push so that they might be able to continue their work. People visiting this forum might see a new thread asking for something. They might not visit an older thread which just happens to have a new post.

It's not like this forum is so active that there was any need whatsoever to do this. Nobody would have been harmed or offended, literally nobody.

They have 8 days to go so this is important right now, not just a random I like this game too.

That is the difference between informing and advertising, someone who is looking for other games can get info about it in this topic, a dedicated topic for every game would have no additional benefit to the forum user.

I am astounded by the attitude of you guys. I can neither understand it, nor find it helpful and I am left bewildered.

Can't help it I guess, if that is how you live your life, so be it.

Then someone else does the same thing, using this thread as a reason to justify it, and slowly but surely this becomes the "advertise games here" subforum.
And this thread last had posts, what two days ago?
And that really sounds like straight-up asking for money for the developers of that game - which I'm not saying is necessarily bad, but it's settinng a bad precedent.

So I only have just begun to understand what is going on here.
I agree with Koub about this issue.
This is not a forum for advertisement and if it isn't that blatant, you should shove it here.
Please don't complain about it, the moderators will listen to you and then merge the topics anyway.
Besides, it's best to be nice to them, as you might receive, consequences.
My warning level is currently 1 and I don't really know what I did, despite it being explained to me, as I do not remember replying to a spammer.

OK Now it's the moderator-me writing.

A few years ago, I decided to get involved in helping the devs make the best Factorio possible, and knowing I don't have a 10th of the needed talent to be part of the dev team, I filed as a moderator, to help keep this forum as clean, tidy, and spambot free as possible, so that the community has a good environment for interacting. Also, I try to do what is needed for people to find their way in this quite big and complex forum, full of subboards, and answer to people seeking help.

Whenever I use my moderator rights, I do it because I'm deeply convinced that what I'm doing will get things in the right direction towards what's above, not to showoff, to feel powerful, or feared. I do it because I am convinced it's the right thing to do.

This is Factorio's Forum. A topic where people who love Factorio share similar games they have had a crush on is OK for me, because it's a way to grow Factorio community, these kinds of things tending to be symmetric.
A topic whose only purpose is to help a greenlight achieve its goals has no place in Factorio Forum.I know it's most likely good intentions driven, but the road to hell is paved with good intentions.

And I will keep moderating the way I feel is right, knowing that when I have doubts, I will seek advise amongst my fellow moderators and the devs.

Now this is the final off-topic post in this thread. Only posts of people wanting to share games like Factorio they have liked will be left after this post.

For Android (don't know if it's in the Apple store) you could check out "Assembly Line".

I don't particularly like games like this on phones as they usually make you pay for extras, power ups, ect. They also make you watch thousands of advertisements which you do not wish for. The game itself may be good, I haven't played it myself so I cannot criticise that, but I do not believe that the way the developers make money is the way forward. If you want to make money, just charge more for the game, don't ruin the gaming experience with excessive advertising and pay to play features. I know it works, but when gaming ethics are concerned it is just not right. I suggest you stick to games that use PC as it's system, not a phone, tablet or console device (they have entirely separate issues, but are still very flawed).

EDIT: Realised I had made a bad grammatical error, so corrected it.

Assembly Line is free, no in game purchases.

It hás belts, inserters and crafters..

I find Cities: Skylines to have a similar game-play even if based on a different topic. You are usually working to solve similar problems addressed slightly differently .

Can you provide a link?

The Cities skyline in the playstore is a game where you have to recognize the city by his skyline..

Completely different game in almost all respects, but I feel like factorio tingles the same part of my brain as Kerbal Space Program. Building things by assembling them out of other things, which themselves are made out of other things, to fulfill a purpose as efficiently or crazy inefficiently as you want. And it can get really really complicated the further you want to go with it.

Kerbal Space Program doesn't really contain automation though... :?
I can see what you mean though, every sand box game should give you that 'tingle', otherwise it just isn't good enough.

One game I haven't seen mentioned yet: Transport Fever

It starts out like a 3D version of TTD with a demand-driven economy, but the business aspect is irrelevant by mid-game. The gameplay becomes a really enjoyable, fully automated model train table. Gradients and curves matter, routing track around hills and rivers is satisfying, and the tools for laying track are the best I've seen in 3D.

Just ignore the racist scenario text...

On Transport Fever's signals:
The game automatically forms chain blocks wherever track splits, merges, or crosses. Trains will reserve a path to their next signal or station before passing a signal, so only place signals where you want trains to stop. This aligns with the first chain signal in Factorio.
