Sorry for the French GUI, but I guess every one will understand which is which category

You can guess the first I chose (because it felt so right) was the "5 more minutes"

only nominated one because the categories valve set are so stupid.

While we're at it, in German: I like how they translate "one more thing" to "klitzekleine Angelegenheit", which actually means "itsy bitsy thing".

Well I selected game in a game award but maybe someone can make a poll so we can all select the same award so Factorio has the biggest chance to win.

I voted honestly. I dont want Factorio to be the winner in a category by cheating, but because people think it deserves it.
With this topic, I was just hoping people would share the games they liked, to discover games I'd like, but wouldn't have thought of trying

It's futile to do a poll now as most players probably have already voted for that one and Factorio really doesn't fit in any other category (at least for me).

The 'game within a game' award is more for actual games within a game, for example as an easter egg. While Factorio has some of them (a train simulator, RTS game, puzzle game when laying belts) and you can make simple games of your own using combinators, I consider them part of Factorio or with combinators something you have to build yourself, but not a game within a game.

I also gave the "Just 5 more Minutes" nomination to Factorio. (Independently from Reddit)

For most others I actually don't know what to nominate because most games of which I think that they would fit a certain nomination aren't available on Steam anymore due to the stupid publisher-platform wars of the recent years. So I can play them but they have had their store pages removed so I can't nominate them.

But at least I gave Doom 3 the "Game within a Game" award for Super Turkey Puncher 3.
And something has to go to Portal 2 as well... I consider either the "Whoa, dude!" thingy or the "Villain Most In Need Of A Hug" nomies.

Yeah if it's the same thing, it's sad Factorio wasn't nominated.

Well... If I take a look at these nominees I can't help but feel that the entire nomination thing was just a farce and that the players didn't really have anything to say about it. In this case I'll go with "Only trust statistics you rigged yourself".

How can it be possible that Factorio is not within the nominees.

How is it possible that crap like NBA2k17 is in the nominees? The reviews are mixed at best. If it wasn't nominated as "worst game in 2016" I don't understand how it could enter the nominees. In my mind it's definitely... rigged.

Whoever paid Valve the most or which game sold the most during the sale is on the list or it's a personal favorite of Valve employees or something... because everyone else right in their mind wouldn't vote for certain games that are on that list. That or people's standards are getting lower every year.

Maybe I'm just a sore loser though.


Would be nice if Valve would release an official statistic though, like the top 50 games for each category just to see how some other games ranked... but I think they won't do that.

The nominated games are on sale now.
Maybe Factorio was ignored because the developers won't attend a sale.

Sadly Civ VI gets only 10% cheaper.

You're correct - these are two different awards. It's a little bit confusing since the nomination page (http://store.steampowered.com/SteamAwardNominations/) now just redirects to the main store page and there's no info found on it on the store, except the sales page for the Game awards.

Your nominations will help determine the finalists for each category. In December, you can vote on the winners for each category during the Steam Winter Sale.

Seems like Factorio still didn't make it for the 5min reward... but at least the list seems "okay" even without Factorio on it.

Guess I'm gonna have to vote for Terraria instead then.

Too bad factorio isn't nominated, but Civilization also deserves the '5 more minutes' reward.
