Hello everyone! I am new to the forums and Factorio itself, but I am quickly becoming something of an addict.

I figured I would pop in here to share the playlist of some of the songs I have on in the background when I play.

Enjoy!

I'll share my playlist too, when I'm not listening to the normal background music:

Kraftwerk - The Mix
Circlesquare - Songs About Dancing and Drugs; Fight Sounds EP
Underworld - 1992-2012 The Anthology; Oblivion With Bells
Solar Fields - Mirror's Edge OST
Nine Inch Nails - Year Zero
New Order - Music Complete; Blue Monday
Boards of Canada - Geogaddi

All these albums have a great electronic/industrial style, and are not too upbeat, which I think goes great with the game

Give this a try. Hammock's album Departure. Outer space ambient kind of feel. This kind of music brings me into a calm, creative state.

Much more where this came from if anyone is interested.

I usually pick an audiobook.

But I also found the relaxing, monotonous but progressive music of The Necks very fitting.

When you've been stuck on the planet so long that you come to believe your machines are living beings that need to be rallied. I play this for them before attacking the nests. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Jtpf8N5IDE

It works fine running on youtube while I play the game.

Ran Pandora in background browser.

Try "Dj. Shadow" radio, very good for thinking games like this and KSP. :)

This is not to say, ingame music is not good, its great, but it couldn't be so much of it to satisfy my marathon-style playing.
Recently i made my "factorio playlist" at YT and i was amazed how much better my gameplay is!.
(just play it at about 10% volume behind game).

I was wondering if somebody made the same here, go ahead and tell me :)

I have a few that I listen too as well. You have about the same musical taste with your playlist it seems.

Some you may want to check out.
Alienhand - He makes music inspired by Eve Online but lots of it fits the ambient/space trance theme.
The Grid
Broken Wings

Asura - Amazing ambient band.
Life^2
Radio Universe

Carbon Based Lifeforms - Another Ambient band similar to Asura
Derelicts
World of Sleepers

Solar Fields - Another ambient band and they have actually done game soundtracks. Mirror's Edge Catalyst - Be warned it's a 5 hour sound track.

Aphex Twin - This guy does some really weird stuff like Windowlicker(NSFW Language) and Come to Daddy, but he also did some really great ambient music too.
Ambient Works Vol. 1
Ambient Works Vol. 2

Happy Listening!

I love this guy and his choir. They're speaking Russian, but I think they're Syrian.
