defense help

Hi I am playing Multiplayer Extreme Modpack
I got research with first 2 science pack and i have MK 2 gun turret and mk1 sniper turret and bitters expansion is on 52% where are big bitters and my defense is useless. Also my only ofensive is AI control of chaingunners but i need big quantities for sucessful attack. So can you please recommend me what should i use for defense/ofense at my current stage of the game? Thank you so much
