Type of accumulator?

Unsure as where else I should ask this... but since it has to do with a mod I'll just put it here.

What is kind of electric storage is the accumulator? I want to make one that has greater capacity but I want to ensure its fairly realistic without slapping "Advanced" in front of it...

Perhaps you could try creating a "battery", which would hold more energy, but have a rather low cap on the maximal power in/out.
The current "Accumulator" acts more like a capacitor.

It is not possible to limit the amount energy it can use/provide per tick, but It would be useful not only for accumulators.

Will this be possible in the future?

I would assume it will, given that kovarex's reply was bundled with information there are some other places where such feature would be useful we are not even aware of :)

The high power accumulator could be the classic SMES.
A superconducting coil that can store lots of power.

Early models of that exist already in RL. They are just too expensive to operate practically, because superconductors.
