Creating a story script

This must have been requested before, but I can't find any complete reference on how to create a story script. Is there a fully working, simple example (not just text extracts) of how to implement a story using a story_table, story_update, etc.

You would be doing the modding community a great justice if you could upload a simple example, or provide a link.
