Ay way to prevent bots from picking up a certain item

Hi,

I would like to know if it is possible to prevent bots/trains/players from picking up specific type of item, for example an new modded item (example don`t be able to pick up iron ever)?

If it is not possible where can i make a proposal to include such a feature in the api as i think that would be easy to expose to lua?
