Beacon and the Productivity effect

Hey,
I wrote myself my first mod for factorio, nothing special just a simple addition to the exisiting modules, but I have one small problem.
I added a new module with all 3 effects, including the productivity effect, but since beacon wont accept them I needed a workaround, thus I enabled the beacon to accept it; but thats not what I want. I want the same module in the same beacon, but without the producitivty effect to spread to nearby machines.
How can I do that? Sure I could add 2 modules, one with spd/effi and one with prod/effi but that would ruin the concept I had in mind for the mod. I checked out other mods and I saw that the Bob Module Mod had added a subgroup for the beacon, is this the way to go, if so, how can this apply to my mod?
