If a car is running out of ammo while it is in combat, the car's weapon will be reloaded with suitable ammo from the gunner's inventory. Is that a bug or a feature I haven't been aware of?

If the car has no ammo to begin with but aggroes biters, the weapon won't be automatically loaded even if there is ammo available in the gunner's inventory. If it is indeed a feature that vehicle weapons will be reloaded from the character's inventory, I'd expect that this would happen whenever a vehicle without ammo is attacked.

Also, if auto-reloading from the gunner's inventory really is a feature, is there a way to turn that off? My mod allows vehicles to reload from the trunk if a certain equipment item is installed in the vehicle grid, so reloading from a player's inventory would make that partly redundant.
A good mod deserves a good changelog. Here's a tutorial (WIP) about Factorio's way too strict changelog syntax!
