(google translate) sorry. i cannot english very well

TL;DR
Spidertron Group

What ? Why ?
Currently, many remote controls are used to operate multiple spiders.
Setting it up one by one is tiring on your hands, and the large number of remote controls takes up a lot of space.

I think it would be better to give a group for the unit in the remote control settings so that you can move the spiders registered there in batches.

You can use a spidertron remote to tell a spider to follow another spider, then clear the remote and the follow command will stay.

yes. I know that.
But isn’t it uncomfortable? You designate units one by one and place them in your inventory or space.

I think it would be more convenient to group and control multiple spiders with one remote control.
It would be better if there was a patrol function, but for now it is more convenient to group them.

You tell 10 spiders to all follow a single spider. That spider's control is now the control for the entire group. Takes a little to set up each group, but spiders shouldn't be dying.

I think you are both correct, it is possible to create groups currently, i use little squads and i color them differently like they have ranks, 1 leader with special color followed by 3 sub-leader with different color and each sub-leader have 5 regular spidertrons following them for a squad of 15 is an example.

But a proper tool to do that would be more confortable, so it's easier to manage sub-squads of repairer and warrior or builder.

If you reduce group 1 to a single spider, that's what we have already.

The main objective is to reduce the number of remote controls.
Don't you feel that it is inconvenient that as the number of spiders increases, the number of remote controls also increases?

I guess it makes sense. The difficulty, is that you would require almost RTS game controls in addition to having Factorio's game controls. Very difficult to create well, while giving a small return. Remember, the controls have to still remain intuitive and simple.

I'm kind of OK with the current state, but I'm not against improvements. It would be very cool. The current state just means I end up with chestfuls of controllers. I almost never have to go back to them though, but it is nice to be able to and it's really not a problem beyond giving them all individual commands once. You could also just use one remote though, I don't think the Spidertrons lose their follow command when you clear the remote.

You only need the one control to control an entire group already.

The real question is when did this topic get moved to "Implemented in 2.0"?

Was it today?

Yes. For the suggestions at least, it seems they don't move em until it's announced.

Thank goodness for that.

Now I don't need to make a thousand suggestions, just to see which ones they move.

According to the timestamp it must have been done between 5:36PM and 9:24PM central european time. can't be more precise ^^
If you make a thousand suggestions, it will be harder to keep track of you what have suggested already and to find some that still make sense but it would be fun to see the list, at around 500 + one would have to be very creative :D
