not fully loaded processor and low FPS/UPS

Post by magals »

I have relatively top-end hardware:
Ryzen 3900x
2070 super
m2

at the same time, I notice that after 500+ hours, performance has dropped. FPS/UPS always ~40

What could be the reason?

you've built too much. entity time is too close to the overall limit for 60UPS which is ~16.5ms.

Also Factorio is mostly singlethreaded. As you can see, one of your cores is almost at full.

The reason why it's not exactly at 100% is perhaps because your memory doesn't keep up. Which is normal for a game like this.

1.1 has threaded belts, try this there.

Belts are at most 10-15% of the total update time, it's still going to be a single thread/memory bottleneck at ~45 UPS.

(Not to say it won't help, of course.)
There are 10 types of people: those who get this joke and those who don't.
