Inserter: not grab item and let it fall when changing direction.

Hi,
when I place an inserter, it automatically grabs items around, which might make sense. But for any newbies this becomes annoying: Placing in wrong direction (newbie!), inserter grabs already anything, now changing the direction lead inserter to let item fall on ground.
Inserters are the main tool in game, placing them regularly makes this behavior annoying as I have to clean these items all the time. Trash. Spend so many time to keep my inventory clean.
