Cant copy, blueprint or mark chests for destruction

Post by Queuebee »

I couldn't find a topic that described this issue, but I'm not sure if I searched right. If this is a duplicate question, I'm sorry.

Me and a friend, on PvP multiplayer server, opposite teams, can't seem to ctrl-c, ctrl-x or create a blueprint of wired chests.
edit : any chest, can't deconstruct them either.

I tried to reproduce this bug and found I am able to create a blueprint of wired chests normally in other saves, old pvp-world saves and new games.

I tried the following console command

Code: Select all

/c game.player.force.research_all_technologies()
But this didn't change anything. That was expected, since on a new game, no technologies are available at all, and I was able to copy wired chests. (I DID activate the 'cheat' mode by inserting chests and wire into my inventory on the new save, would that be able to cause the 'blueprinting of wired entities' to be 'toggled'?)

The following list contists of situations where I was able to blueprint steel or other chests, or use ctrl-x, ctrl-v.
  • old save from 0.16.35
  • converted old pvp with cheatmode activated from 0.17.11
  • old pvp save (cheatmode activated) from 0.16.30
  • a sandbox game
  • a new game, cheatmode to spawn in the chests & wires
And these were situations where I COULDN'T SELECT STEEL CHESTS
and also wood, wired versions, etc. Storage chests worked, though? (see images)
  • steel chests in current pvp map (koalatory)
  • steel chests in locally saved pvp map
  • steel chests after activating cheat mode
  • steel chests after force.researching everything

I forgot to mention in the original post that: we can also not mark them for deconstruction.

I just found out construction robots won't repair damaged wood/iron/steel chests either, logistics chest they will though.

edit: At this point I'm starting to think it is a feature and not a bug, but I'm not sure. Could someone confirm?

Did you enable this option?

It would cause exactly what you are describing.
