[0.17.11] Trains slowing down or stopping with many stations

Post by bert862 »

When having a train before a chain signal before many train stops, and with many trains in the stations, such as in the pictures, the train often takes a long time to re-calculate a path to a free station when the station it had originally pathed to is already full. This can sometimes take up to 1-2 full seconds, backing up very high-throughput stations.

The amount of stations required seems to change depending on a few factors. When the stations are not all shaped the same, it seems to happen more often, but I have no evidence to really back that up - just a gut feeling.

No, the rest of the server still goes at a normal speed.

Trains will sometimes completely stop at this point.

The bug is still there in [0.17.45].

In action it looks like this:

Its simply waiting for recalculation of its path when waiting at a chainsignal and the original path is occupied. NaB.

It is not a bug but it is not supposed to happen either.

It is a consequence of a low recalculation rate of the train's path especially when they are at a rail signal.

It messes up stackers and the use of rail signals when used with multiple stations as seen in my previous reply.

It also is inconsistent with the expectation of how signals and trains work.
