[0.17.1] Can confirm. Just happened to me at the same point. Happened right after the Compilitron repositioned after I filled the chest.

I noticed there was a new autosave created called '_autosave-repair-assembler , which was created right after the chest was filled. Going back to this save, I re-created again and noticed the crash happens only after the engineer walks over to and reaches the Compilitron.
*edit* - I attached that save in case it is needed.

It appears the bottleneck mod (and/or some other mods) may be causing this crash. I had only bottleneck installed when the crash occurred. Removed it and was able to progress past this point.
...maybe these scenarios should require no mods installed?

Same as malventano, disabling the Bottleneck mod got past this error.

Moved to "not a bug", as the error is probably in the bottlenek mod.
Reported to the bottlneck developers: https://github.com/troelsbjerre/Bottleneck/issues/47
