You ran out of memory when saving. NaB.

Similiar thing just happened to me. Looks like out of memory as well, which is surprising with 16 GB of RAM. The log looks a bit different though. I added it for comprehensiveness. No current save was created.

In 0.17 it will *attempt* to just fail the save/autosave if it runs out of memory. I say attempt because depending on when/where it ran out it might not be recoverable.

I assume it will make some attempt to alert to player that the autosave/save failed? It would be a royal pain to lose 3-4 hours of play because autosave had been failing for a while, and only discover that saves weren't working when you attempt to make a named save at the end of a session.

Crashing due to an out of memory exception feels fine to me, I also have the 2 min old autosave. It seems like factorio is leaking memory somewhere or has memory fragmentation issues which accumulate over time.

Memory leaks I doubt or we'd have a lot more people here reporting issues. Fragmentation possibly. If you can reproduce it let us know.
