Hi.

I'm connect via rcon to the server. RCON works fine but the server console give me a wrong ip.

Code: Select all

Mar 06 18:39:57 factorio factorio[394]: 62423.927 Info RemoteCommandProcessor.cpp:229: New RCON connection from 6e5b17df9503709477a2ad5ed09c6aff6a5d0685

Hi, we started to obfuscate IPs in logs for privacy reasons.

How can server operators obtain the IP of players connected to their server without resorting to tcpdump?

I will like an option to disable such obfuscation.
I do not know how external ip can be private when you are using internet, but i'm pretty sure, that server admins need a way to know from where rcon connections come.

i agree with this i mean say someone is trying to brute force your rcon you cant exactly add 6e5b17df9503709477a2ad5ed09c6aff6a5d0685 to a firewall now can you? and honestly someone connecting to a remote console pretty much waives their right to privacy especially when its not their console so their IP should not be hidden
