As the title says, you can copy settings with item in hand, but you can't paste them.

To reproduce:

• place two assembling machines
• set the recipe in one
• grab item in hand
• copy the setting from the first
• try to paste it (notice the green lines around the copied assembler)
• put item away
• paste setting

Seems kinda weird to me, shouldn't I be able to paste them with item in hand as wel?

The game doesn't know if you want to build ghosts when shift clicking or paste settings so it's just disabled.
