I think the image is self explaining:
With that it's possible to transport items super fast as they are instanstly four tiles further. I don't think this is wanted

There's nothing broken there. You've excluded the rail between the cargo wagons and the cargo wagons render larger than their hitboxes. It looks a little weird sure but that's just how it is

So, it's wanted that, with this setup one could transport items way faster than with belts?
for example: if you repeat this setup and reserve space in the wagons for certain items it would be possible to have a super fast bus system... didn't test it though. I thought maybe change trains, so they can only be loaded/unloaded on the long side.
