[0.13.8] [Pending] Constant Crash on new game/old save load

All this started after i made a new game on 0.13.8
Before that, i was able to load and play normaly my old saves from 0.13.x who are now saved as 0.13.8

Anyway, less than 20 minutes into that new game, I was placing some ghost steam engines with shift+click, when i got the first crash.

After that, any attempts to load any save, either that particular or others, fails with a crash.
And the weird thing is that it crashes also on new games, after i click on generate map.

Following are the logs with _first , for the initial crash,
and _other, for a log after new game creation crash.

Edit: Im using the Windows (64 bit zip package)

Code: Select all

00000000345DF370 ((module-name not available)): (filename not available): (function-name not available)
34.979 Error CrashHandler.cpp:85: Map tick at moment of crash: 1
Don't know where the crash is comming from ... it might be from some driver.
Try to reboot your computer.
If that doesn't help try to download Factorio 0.13.8 to different folder and see if that also crashes when creating new map.
If non of this fixes the issue let me know, I will need to get crash dump. I'll give you instructions how to generate it.

Ok, now i feel like an idiot.
But yeah, rebooting the pc, and the problem vanished
Both on creating new game, and loading old save, with a clean "goodbye" log.

Im guessing you suspect some driver got "stuck" during my first crash while playing, and stayed in that state until the reboot?

Yeah, it was probably something like this. I am glad it works for you now :)
