Rail chains not working properly in a roundabout

Post by Ericwu91 »

Here I am again. This time, I brought saves along with the printscreens. Please don't laugh too hard.

Thing is, I've been seeing this issue happening to a specific roundabout again and again, and it effectively gridlocks my entire train network. I know, I know it should have redundancies to prevent that, but... well.

Here, you can see a train stopped at a specific signal.

Here, you can see the roundabout without the train, a few moments after I told it to follow another path (which it merrily did)

The save attached has the character in the appointed place.

If it is something stupid I did when designing it, please let me know :D

Is there any particular reason the bottom-left signal is a block signal instead of a chain? It might be related to the issues.

That is not a bug but a wrong signaling I guess.

The train stops at the top chain signal, even when the last one is also a chained signal.

There is. I wanted to fit the most trains (all of them are 1-1 compositions) inside this particular roundabout to avoid chugging the rails before it.I don't think it is the issue.

I might be doing some weird things here then... I'm going to try this entire scenario from scratch in my next save. If it repeats, I'll report it again :)
Thanks for the responses, guys.

First screen seems strange for me - north train stopped on chain signal thats surrounded by chain signals.
It's reservation should go past the chain signals to place where it can actually stop as defined by normal signal from my understanding of how chain signals work.
Should it be able to stop surrounded by chain signals?
