Spliter not spliting when close to inserter

I don't know if this is a bug or should be a suggestion. Also could't find any topics about this.

This isn't a bug. The fast serter is just picking up the plate before it goes through the splitter.

So it's like, the splitter only works once the object reaches the "middle" of the belt?

Yeah try it again with 2 or more inserters placing onto the belt, so the 2nd one gets a chance to grab one as well.
Also, you don't need a splitter for this sort of setup, just turn a regular belt 90 degrees and go one more space.

Not exactly. The arm is grabbing the iron plate the moment it arrives at the splitter, BEFORE the splitter can act.

Ha, you are right, replacing the common splitter with an express splitter worked.
