Many items look very different from their early versions, but their crafting icons were never updated. For example:

Small pump (this thing looks more like an electric motor too)

Logistic robot
Image

Construction robot
Image

Steam engine
Image

Mining drill (might be on purpose, to simplify the icon?)
Image

Steel furnace
Image

Personal roboport (outdated construction robots)
Image

Gun turret
Image

Laser turret (forgot to update multiple times)
Image

Maybe more...

This is not a bug, we need to make changes to the actual entities to make their icons usable.

Updating the laser turret icon is probably the most important of these, as it doesn't even look close to the real thing.

The main issue is if we updated the laser and gun turret icons to match their entity versions it's incredibly hard to tell them apart due to the small size of the icons :) I believe that's what Kovarex was referring to.

Speaking of icons, am I the only one to find the new research icons difficult to read ? I mean they're gorgeous graphically, but maybe too much for my own perception. Past a certain size (towards small) I find it easier to understand what it's about when the icons are more stylised than realistic.
I wonder if what I just said is understandable. If it's not, tell me, and I'll try to illustrate  .
