When a loader is placed, it normally becomes either a loader or unloader according to which entities are adjacent; however, when placed on a space platform it always becomes an unloader. I believe that the space platform behavior is a bug, and it should behave the same as on other surfaces.

The attached save file has a space platform with a loader in storage. Place the loader for loading into the hub (adjacent, with the belt direction toward the hub). Instead of being built as a loader, it will be built as an unloader (unloading from the vacant space on the other side).

Given https://mods.factorio.com/mod/aai-loaders/changelog, if you update "AAI Loaders" mod to 0.2.5, the issue should be fixed. Base game never rotates loaders and as such this is not a bug, this is strictly a mod issue.
