1. Wire up something so you can enter a constant.
2. Enter some constant value, like 4.
3. Hover over the confirm button to check that (E) keybind is set for confirming.
4. Hit E.
5. Text field contains "4e" instead of being confirmed.

I know you can type some letters in the box to get e.g. multiples of values, as described here in "Smart number format":

Not sure whether "e" is one of those. (Maybe it's the scientific notation E, e.g. 10e3 meaning 1000?)

Yes. E is used for scientific notation in number fields now. I haven't heard of anyone actually using it that way, and a lot of people with the same complaint as you, so we should make a suggestion thread to upvote to get it changed back to confirm 8-)

Yeah, seems like an oversight, because the UI still hints me to press E to confirm

Thanks for the report. Since number fields now allow formulas including functions, this is working as intended. If you don't have the input field focused, E will work normally.

I do not believe this is working as intended. Please see the attached screenshot:

As you can see, the UI still hints the user to confirm with E (by default).

This isn't a major bug, but thoughtfulness about whether removing the old functionality was intended is probably good here. If the old functionality was intended to be removed, please consider removing the UI hint for it.

You are in a field that accepts this key as value, it will work once the focus is not on that field.

If you want to discuss this further open a Gameplay help topic please.
