I downgraded, as I saw suggested for others, but I lost my achievements as a result. I only know of the "upgrade" process provided in-game, so I figured a "downgrade" was simply download the full installer and install, so that's what I did. Fired up the game and received the attached notification. I loaded a save to see what would happen and my achievements were, in fact, lost. Standalone, not steam.
It's a given, but my save was last played on 0.15.38 (not actually saved, but loaded/played on 0.15.38) and it mentioned a problem which I didn't screenshot, but should be in the log.

Re: [0.15.37] Downgrade lost achievements
Thanks for the report. That's working as intended (new files can't be loaded in old versions) but I should be able to "downgrade" your achievements file so you can still use it in 15.37. I'll work on it and let you know.
If you want to get ahold of me I'm almost always on Discord.

Try the attached file and see if it works for you.

Re: [0.15.37] Downgrade lost achievements
It works, but unfortunately it's the same as the other one.
I think what happened is that upon loading 0.15.37, it somehow erased/reset my achievements from the 0.15.38 version file. As I scrolled through them to see what was lost, a few of them instantly popped up, as if I had just gotten them that moment. Those appear to be the same ones in the updated file you shared. I can't find a 0.15.36 or 0.15.38 download to try downgrading again and see if they get wiped out again.
EDIT:
Just to be clear, the file I uploaded is the result of the loss, and the subsequent loading of a save and "you just achieved x,y,z" popping up. The problem was that my achievements were reset as a result of the downgrade, and 0.15.37 (I guess) just created a new achievements.dat and overwrote the 0.15.38 one. They started earning, from a clean slate, without a problem, so those are probably the achievements you see in the file I uploaded. Fortunately, I have a backup from May, so I can at least start from there instead of a clean slate.

Re: [0.15.37] Downgrade lost achievements
Hi, thanks for the report.
We don't support downgrades, so it's not a bug. I am sorry.
