Trains request small amount of wrong item

Post by The_Data_Doctor »

We are doing a multiplayer world and try to extensively use LTN as the mod reads great. Unfortunatelly we ran into several problems. Most of them were self built due to "bad design" but there is one error we couldn't get around.

We have single item provider and requester stations and all our trains are 1L-4C.
We built a single station for excess stuff from player inventory (and what we had to clean up due to earlier mentioned bad design).
This station provides multiple items and we hooked filter inserters to the station so when a train arrives only the requested items are stored in the train.
This works around 4 out of 5 times but at some points trains arrive that request for example 10000 iron plates and 18 iron gears. It's not that the inserters got stuck with the items and put them into the train it's really the signal coming from the station (not the combinator and not the light) saying that this train requests these two items in that amounts.

Is there anything known about that?
We started putting filter inserters into our request stations but this is only working against the symptom, not the problem itself.

It sounds like you’re requesting it at some point in the past.

The signal (chest output) from the station comes from the train that requests it in its schedule, which comes from the depot, where the schedule is set, which comes from the (former) request (lamp input) of that station.
Cool suggestion: Eatable MOUSE-pointers.

The inserters keep items if no space is available in the wagon.
This means the next train gets the previous items to clear the inserters.

Set locked slots to 1 or 2 so each delivery is enough space in the wagon to clear the inserters.
