Which depot layout is better, and why?

Post by Xeizzen »

Which depot layout is better, and why? In your opinion.

The first example:

Features the entrances adjacent to the passage between roundabouts, and has two exits.
Good in term of amount of exits the trains have, but bad in terms of blocking the runway between the two roundabouts.

+++

The second example:

Features two entrances but one of the entrances blocks the exit, while another entrance doesn't cover all the depot stops.
Also features a safe exit in case a train will try to occupy one of the depot spots if there are already all of them being occupied.

+++

Waiting for your thoughts and comments.

Yet another, alternate layout:

The only entrance, but individual exits.
Downside - I have to get rid of the traffic lights in order to place exits there.
The same problem like it was with the first layout.

For my taste they all are way too squished together. There's no place for trains to wait and merge.

1. Every depot need additional roal for slowing trains on it, instead of main road. You will feel necessity of this when you fulfill yours roads.

2. Useless road

3. Second one is better because you don't use main road as part of depot.
4. Add raid signals on marked point. it is will increase depot speed.

5. If you change this signal to simple signal (not chain) it will also increase depot speed.
