0.15.10 Heavily Modded 'DesyncedWaitingForMap'

Desyncs in modded game will be ignored most of the time, until it is clearly proven that the desync is not caused by scripting.

0.15.10 Heavily Modded 'DesyncedWaitingForMap'

Post by Arumba »

We have a fairly large number of mods, ~50 or so, and a game save that is on ~32 hours. The game runs fine, 60 fps/ups, great performance, but then after an indeterminate amount of time we seem to all end up in a 'bad state' together. People who try to join end up desyncing immediately on join, and looping until they hit the limit or are banned/unbanned. We see a lot of "DesyncedWaitingForMap" in the logs, and 'crc mismatches' on the desync reports.

This reminds me of the teleporting fire issue we found in the AAI mod, but we aren't using *any* of those mods.

Could the save file be too large now? It's about 23mb zipped, which doesn't seem like it should be an issue....

What else could cause all of the currently connected players to go into a bad game state together, but have new connections fail?

Some more information, don't know if it's important.
I joined Arumba's server when it started. Did not play for 30hours.
I just wanted to go play on the server, and there where mods removed, and some mods added. After adding and removing them, i got a server mismatch of config settings. An other factorio restart.
Downloading the map, finished in about 15/20sec, catching up took a min.

Arumba and others on the server, seemd a bit confused that i was able to join. I did not crash or desync once.

All of the differences end up around evolution increase by pollution being different. Specifically the chunks around positions 602, -111, and 607.83, -64.16 have different amounts of pollution. Is there anything on those positions that are special?

I wanted to check the chunck positions, but got the Desync error now too.
Got a few Desync reports (200mb+). Do you need one of them?

Hmm, fish.

Any chance one of the mods you're using gives fish pollution absorption? :) Where can I get the mods you're using?
