Minimalist 279MW nuclear reactor

Post by DaveMcW »

This 279MW reactor is designed to look super clean and organized. It does not aim for max fuel efficiency, relying on kovarex enrichment for cheap fuel.

Input:
3x nuclear fuel per 200s (233% efficiency at full power)
3x water pipe at 960/s

Nice! I was fiddling with new (non-smart) reactors as well, but didn't dare go below 2x2 :-). But you're right that the neighbour bonus is more of a gimmick once you have kovarex up and running...

PS, if you're being minimalist, why not go for 2 reactors? Also, not 100% sure about dropping the pipes - it makes it narrower, but you also need more exchangers to make up for the ratio and substations...

DaveMcW: 278.4 MW in 21x59 = 0.225 MW/tile
vanatteveldt 1: 160 MW in 17x44 = 0.214 MW/tile
vanatteveldt 2: 160 MW in 27x29 = 0.204 MW/tile

or excluding the reactors...

DaveMcW: 278.4 MW in 21x52 = 0.255 MW/tile
vanatteveldt 1: 160 MW in 17x39 = 0.241 MW/tile
vanatteveldt 2: 160 MW in 27x24 = 0.247 MW/tile
