Hello.

After some tinkering with Recursive Blueprints on my Death World map this is what I came up with to make expanding a little bit easier.

Enjoy watching the automated destruction!

Special thanks to the mod creators of the mods that are mandatory for this:

DaveMcW, doc and justarandomgeek for Recursive Blueprints, thank you especially DaveMcW for the rotate option!
optera for LTN

It is still work in progress, I will post the blueprint book if I am happier with it and there are less problems

Awesome! Btw, the coal could have come from red desert rocks, "red-desert-rock-huge-01" gives you both stone and coal when mined.

Ah, that explains it. Well, time to teach my expander how to handle coal

This is great!
Any progress since video release?

Would be cool if it extended in length linearly so 4 of them could create a square without gaps.
Also how does it work with water?

Hey there. Actually I didn't play very much factorio in the last weeks, so no, there wasn't really a lot of progress. However I plan to play a bit more.
I probably will make a tiny version of this which can be used before you have a lot of robots and laser turrets.

I understand what you mean, interesting idea. The problem is the distance. If it spreads wider and wider the time required to build/repair will just get too long and it will become too inefficient.
The water is handled by a very old landfill mod that simple allows landfill to be blueprinted, because it is just disabled in the vanilla game. Probably because of the inconsistency with the placement.
