Landscaped! A Factory with its Shirt Tucked In

I have a background in architecture, so my factory tends to be a bit composed to fit the landscape. Sometimes I do this at the expense of a little efficiency, but it feels worth it.

A grid defined by tier II power poles overlays the landscape. I try to respect existing trees and water edges when possible, and leave space for winding paths. I'm a bit overkill on the border defenses, but I like the way that it defines a clear boundary between inside and outside. I love that the developers added concrete blocks!
Aliens set to max, resources set to normal.

This may be a bit reminiscent of a previous build I posted: viewtopic.php?f=8&t=8425

Wow ... just wow .. I absolutely love it. I like it when you can see the passion that went into the factory. Well done mate

Wow, really going hard on the aesthetic aspect are we? :p You should try and reach those far away, rewardingly large resources and build awesome outposts around them, would make for a
nice humanoid look of a real life world with cities etc. Or maybe that's just my inner train addict talking ;) Great work though!

I'm tempted to put the old base on autopilot and scout a place to start fresh on a new, self-sufficient base developed entirely with end-game tech. I imagine the aesthetic would turn out a lot differently considering the flexibility of substations and robots over transport belts.

I'd preserve a lot of the alien nests, maybe integrating them into the base to be a wilderness preserve and hunting grounds.

I found some time to finish up my factory, expanding to a couple more outposts and launching a rocket.

Having aliens on super-hard is super-tedious, it turns out, but I liked the tension.
