Rocket Defense Blueprint

This is a compact factory for producing tier 4 science and tier 3 modules. It will get you to the Rocket Defense in about 9 hours if you only build one copy. But the idea is to copy and paste it to produce much faster. :)

Each factory requires 15 copper mines, 12 iron mines, 3 coal mines, 2 crude oil/sec, and 7 MW of power.

The oil tanks are only needed until you research Advanced Oil Processing.

I wonder what the max amount of copies you can attach to eachother before the raw resources belt doesn't have enough throughput to reach the last smelters

3 copies if using express belts to capacity. 1 ore is used every 1.75 secs in a steel furnace. The capacity of an express belt is around 30 items/sec. 30 x 1.75 = 50 plus furnaces. At a requirement of 15 copper furnaces per layout, you get 3 plus a little.

This is awesome! Very clean! I might try this design in my current game, but probably replace the furnaces with electric ones so I don't have to deal with the coal. Of course that would probably throw off the ratios of everything else. Haja

Very nice design, I am worried about the efficiency of having all this brute production force powering 1 red, 1 green and 2 blue assemblers though, you should be able to power quite a bit more I recon.

It's balanced for rocket defense production. 75% of the resources go into modules, only 25% for science.

Hm. We need a mod for PhpBB, which takes a ZIP file and looks into it for pictures and displays them and enables to download the zip or only the included blueprint-string...

Unless I'm mistaken, you seem to have missed one inserter between the sulfur plant and the sulfuric acid plant. Aside from that, awesome setup!

Only downsides to electric furnaces would be the massive power consumption (Even with two basic efficiencies it uses something like 90KW) and the fact that they take up far more space. IMO if you're shipping in copper and iron anyway, coal too isn't too much of an issue.
