Complete modular train system

Hello Ladys and Gentleman,

i'm Luzifer and i have worked hard to make a fully working modular train system!

I have maked the system for the train configurations:
  • 1 Loco - 4 Wagons
  • 2 Locos - 8 Wagons
  • 1 Loco - 4 Wagons - 1 Loco
  • 2 Locos - 6 Wagons - 2 Locos
Here some Screenshots from my main used modular parts:

4 Lanes:
4 Lane - Long - 2-8 Trains
4 Lane - Long Chain - 2-8 Trains
4 Lane - Curve
4 Lane - T-Junction
4 Lane - Crossing
4 Lane - 4 on 2
4 Lane - Railroad Crossing
2 Lanes:
Long - 2-8 Trains
Long Chain - 2-8 Trains
Curve
T-Junction
Crossing
Turning Point
Railroad Crossing
Loading - 2-8 Trains
And here i have a Video that explains how to use this Blueprints !

The Blueprints:
2 Lane System - 1-4 Trains
2 Lane System - 1-4-1 Trains
2 Lane System - 2-6-2 Trains
2 Lane System - 2-8 Trains
4 Lane System - 1-4 Trains
4 Lane System - 1-4-1 Trains
4 Lane System - 2-6-2 Trains
4 Lane System - 2-8 Trains

So, that was all from my site.

I hope you like it and you give me some feedback.

Greetz,

LuziferSenpai

Could you please remove the colors in the text.
I belive i get eye cancer if i look at that red text on grey background.

Which is the reason using colors should only be reserved to admins/mods or users with specially earned privileges. Nothing could ever be so important that a regular user needs colors... let alone every single line in the entire post with the most eye piercing colors possible.

But apart from that it seems like a pretty solid concept for building up a train network.

It has taking a time to figure the Parts out, the biggest time was the Crossing ^^

Looks good for the most part, but I don't think any train system is complete without waiting bays, which are needed to prevent deadlock.

You use way too many chain signals in the junctions.

Get some of the canonical designs for t-junctions and include those in the library instead.

I use so much, because throughput. Than they can get faster away ;)

You use chain signals in places where they are not helping. Unless there's a crossing in front of the chain signal, you do not need it (there are some special cases where that is not true, but certainly not on a right turn at a junction with drive-on-right trains).

Okay, i thank you for your feedback!
And i will see if i can improve it more.

Regardless of how they can be made better, thank you for taking the time to post your train layouts!

Great! I was looking for RHD rail system.

could you post 4 lane to 2 lane T-Juntion and 4 lane to 1 lane T-Juntion please?

4 to 2 is there, but for 4 to 1 make a 4 to 2 and than go on 1 lane that is easy ^^

Great designs.

But can you upload to YT instead of hosting?
Imgur for the images.

Shitty Australian Internet.
The images don't load on the post.
The video takes an hour to download.
Or extremely long buffering times.

Also, is it possible to have the individual blueprint strings?

Finally, some text instructions on how to import to the game would be good.
For people who don't want to watch the video.

Edit:
I think I may have a bug in my version on Forman :/

You need Blueprint String ;)

And yeah, i rework the Tutorial and the Blueprints than i make a Upload to YT.

Many many thanks. All thats needed is the powerpoles along the tracks. But thats easy to sort out. :)

@LuziferSenpai

In your video, you mention that you prefer having chain signals on curves so that we do not end up with any stopped trains on curves. What is the downside of trains stopped on curves vs. trains stopped on straight tracks?

Thanks for the blueprints and video :)

My guess it is mostly aesthetics.

From an actual game play it is possible your might build a T-junction followed by a curve. Then depending on your train size (up to 10 was OP's intent) it is possible to have a train blocking lanes in the T-junction if it gets stopped along the curve. Though in reality a train stopping anywhere but a in queue or trainstop is asking for trouble. :)

Great system, but in version 0.15.2 you can not use the Blueprints anymore.

The blueprints beginning with "H" will not be imported. Can you create a new version of Blueprints?
