[0.11.X] Expanded Robot Technologies

This mod was inspired by Arumba's new modded Factorio series on youtube although i had been thinking about doing it anyway.

The mod increases the number of technologies for robot carrying capacity and speed up to 10. The cargo increases by 1 each time and the speed increases by 20% each time.

THERE IS NOW A 0.12 RELEASE VERSION!!!!! :D This can be found here: https://forums.factorio.com/forum/vie ... 93&t=13610 and is also 0.11.X compatible so just use that one!

This is my first mod so any comments would be greatly appreciated, I think the tech cost may need tweaking in the near future. I had said that i would look into increasing the energy capacity and consumption of the robots but as far as i can see the technology modifiers (logistic-robot-storage and logistic-robot-speed) are hardcoded in at the moment so i don't think its possible. Please correct me if i am wrong.

It is possible to do more than +1 for each research if you want to. I did something like this over xmas. Not sure what a good research cost would be..

Yeah, i thought about doing that but towards the end of the game i'm just sitting there waiting for enough modules to build the rocket defense so i figured more techs are better to keep the factory moving and keep me busy. Do let me know if the current tech cost feels wrong.

Very nice little mod to reduce clutter on bigger factories, hopefully gets integrated to vanilla game at some point.

This is a very nice mod, but what I want to see more is a mod that [through research] increases the amount of distance a robot can travel before having to recharge (battery capacity).

I don't quite understand what you mean, the mod adds in extra technologies on top of the already existing ones. If you have installed it part way through a save then you may have to open the console and put in

Code: Select all

/c game.player.force.resettechnologies()
for the rest of the techs to show up.

Thinking about it you can just use the 0.12 release on 0.11.X, it's perfectly compatible and just adds more stuff. Should probably put that in the first post!!
