Hi guys!

Thanks for liking the mod. I finally managed to reserve time to update and extend it a little bit:
If anyone is keen on cotributing directly on the source of this mod, feel free to drop me a message ^^

Updates and news for 0.6.1

- patched for 0.16.x (yes those icon_size problems...)
- fixed steel-2 tech icon
- update resource placement and new graphics for rich-ores
- decrease size of ore stacks (configurable)
- add oil-fracking (oil-sand patches which can pump oil only by using fracking-fluid) - Also pumping normal oil now also requires water as input to the pumpjack.
- make train storage size / costs configurable (default: 0.5x cost, 0.5x storage size) - Check the mod settings when starting the map.
- fixing typos / proofreading
- fix wrong recipe time (smelting rich iron ore directly - the *crude* one to say so ;) )

Have fun! and report issues on github or here, if you find any. :D

Thank you for the update judos.

Did you build something in for the mod coal processing?
https://mods.factorio.com/mods/pyanodon ... processing

The version before (my update to 0.16.x) I had crushed iron.
In my case (I am playing with coal processing) the recipe disappeared after taking your update...
Maybe the changes are from the other side at coal processing...

EDIT: there is also no recipe to make copper plates from copper poweder anymore...

That sounds weird. Either that mod or the combination of these two cause issues. I will have a look at any time soon. Just to make sure, try installing only hardCrafting for a moment to see whether it works fine there.

Standalone it works fine.

I think I have found the reason.

In both mods technology and items with (technical) name "crusher" are used and only one can be available in the game.

I think the best is both mods should use some kind of prefix for their stuff. Like hc_crusher (hc for HardCrafting) and py_crusher for the other mod.
I am writing also to the developer of Coal Prossesing about that.

EDIT: also "crushed-iron" is messed up...

Faced the following bug.

When smelting iron plates from iron dust, in case of inadequate supply of dust, the kilns automatically switch to steelmaking. (The iron plate becomes raw material).
This happens only if you do not have time to submit the dust from the conveyor in time.

Are you going to update your mod to version 0.17?

I would like to restart my Let's-Play series to present your great mod.

I would love a 0.17 version.

I can't start a real game without this anymore - I need it. Please be so kind!

Tried to perform the upgrade to 0.17. It was not too easy, but I managed it to create a working version.
It would be nice if someone can test this too.
Probably I can put this version online soon.
(Or the developer itself will take over)

Additional remark: This version requires Boblibrary

Sorry, it does not work anymore, since Factorio just changed the way of autoplace handling. I will try to fix this.

Well, dang it.

That one download was me and I can confirm problems with autoplace. If we could only get around this last obstacle we'd have Hardcrafting working again on 0.17. Sadly I have no experience with Factorio modding.

Fixed the problems with autoplace and now this version worked for me.
Would you be so kind to test the new version?

Seems to work so far. I loaded up an old 0.16 save with HC + tons of other mods, hundreds of hours in; no problems anymore.

However I had one strange startup error with HC (game traced it back to the 'data-final-fixes.lua' file), but only once and I can't replicate it anymore. I then deactivated all mods, activated them one at a time, everything works fine and the old savegame is playable.

I'm happy so far. My suggestion is upload to modportal and wait. Good Job.

EDIT: Error when activating the 'Cargo Ships' mod. https://imgur.com/a/JnYuLe9

EDIT 2: Error with map resource colors; enriched copper appears in light green instead of orange.

Re: [MOD 0.17.x] HardCrafting 0.17.3

Post by judos »

Hi guys,

I uploaded a new updated version of the hardCrafting mod. Most of the work was however done by ixu (Big thanks to him! ;) )

Besides the changes that ixu already did to port the mod to 0.17 I updated the following:

Updates for 0.17.3

- Fix rich-copper-ore map color (should be similar to vanilla)
- reduce rich-ore density and spawn frequency (they should be rare)
- disable logging (sometimes ingame chat messages appeared)
- fix scrap-metal can't be incinerated, prevent coal from getting incinerated

Have fun! and report issues on github or here, if you find any. :D
