This is a mod based around the ability to grow and replace trees the player cuts down. Each type of tree now drops its own kind of wood, which can be crafted into either the normal raw wood or into seeds for that specific tree. A new machine, the Arborium, is now available. When seeds are placed in the arborium, they will eventually grow into saplings, which allow the player to place the kind of tree that dropped the seeds in the first place.
This mod serves two main purposes: it makes wood into a renewable resource, and allows the player to place forests in their world.
The Arborium itself is a 3x3 structure that runs on a very small amount of electricity. It creates saplings from seeds slowly and automatically (the player doesn’t need to define any recipe). While growing saplings, the arborium actually removes a small amount of pollution from the air.
Because this adds 3 crafting recipes per type of tree in the game, all recipes are located under a new tab in the crafting menu. That way, they don’t completely flood the crafting menu. All recipes are unlocked, and this mod does not include any technology to research.
Currently, this mod is still a work-in-progress. Item/recipe icons may not function properly. Same goes for names. If you find any issues, or think anything is unbalanced, please let me know!

I will definitely give it a look... I want a way to plant trees to make the base look a bit better.
Trees along the rail lines... Around solar array fields.... etc.

Important Question. Can robots plant the saplings, and can you make a blueprint? That is kinda a critical feature.

I like it!
The Arborium image is not that bat and the complexity of the saplings/trees is understandable because of the different tree variations.
You might want to try a simple version of the mod that just uses factories to make wood into saplings, and then outputs random trees (we can sort them afterwards with filters) so that the "mechanic" is simpler for people that don't want to add too much "unofficial" content to the game.
