Unfortunately while that version is loading into Factorio just fine, its not actually growing anything, so I have an error somewhere. Havent found it yet though. Also that branch is still working on the first of his suggestions, the second one (about planting trees on farms more efficiently) has not been started on yet.
The Optimisation branch is now working, with the first of Rseding's suggestions implemented. I found my (rookie) mistakes, and redid the part affected. Next onto the field maintainer script, to see if we can get an improvement there also!

Would appreciate feedback - any bugs, and also how performance is affected with LOTS of treefarms!

New version 0.3.1 is up with a minor bugfix for errors on loading a save - https://github.com/Blu3wolf/Treefarm-Lite/releases

Did a test with 60 treefarms that stayed at 60 FPS. Hopefully 600 treefarms would be the same - although Ill need someone to try that for me!

Hello Blu3wolf,

i've updated from 0.2.8 to 0.3.1 and get an error message on load a game.
Tryed 0.3.0 but the same. Downgrade to 0.2.8 helped.

Hmm. I might need to work on a migration file to fix that. Ill see what I can do. Hopefully sometime tomorrow.

Working on an attempted fix here: https://github.com/Blu3wolf/Treefarm-Lite/tree/bugfix

Tempted to call it save breaking, but if I can get this fix working then it will be able to convert save games over to the new data handling system. Again it stems from errors Im not sure how to interpret though!
Thats about as much as I can do this am, classes now.

Would anyone be interested in testing the performance of an interim release for me? It would likely not be a good idea to progress your saves on this release, but Id be interested in hearing what kind of errors folks get and what kind of performance.

New Version 0.3.4 Is Up

A new version, 0.3.4, is now available for download! This version should make it possible to add treefarm to an existing save that was started without treefarm installed, as well as hopefully improve framerates with LOTS of treefarms installed.

This version is still a little fresh from testing, so any bug reports are valued! Please post any Issues to Github: https://github.com/Blu3wolf/Treefarm-Lite/issues I will try to look at any issues when I can. Any thoughts, reports or just opinions you have on performance, I would appreciate posted here or github - Im hoping this version should be much lighter on resources needed to run, especially with large numbers of treefarms, but maybe even with just a few.

Looking forwards to see what you guys think!

I tried upgrading my old Treefarm map to the latest versions of AC and Lite but I got the error message attempt to index field 'fieldsToMaintain' (a nil value) in control.lua:269 in TreefarmLite.

This map was using like 8ms for Treefarm and had a UPS of 52, so it's my test map for performance once it'll load. Uploading my save file and mods.zip to help with debugging/testing. It was running previously with AC 0.2.1 and Lite 0.2.0.

Don't recall exact # of treefarms but there are quite a few. We had eventually added a lot more treefarms then punted once UPS was in the 40s and replaced everything with Greenhouses. That was back before you implemented the performance boosts. :)
