[MOD 0.12.x] Deathcycles - Drive Fast, Die Often

Behold, placeholder art!

Deathcycles are the perfect vehicle for those times when you need to get across your factory right now or die trying. They are fast but fragile. Very fuel efficient, but without any cargo space. Also, they have a shotgun, because their one true enemy is rocks and trees.

Drive carefully - ah, who'm I kidding, you'll blow up anyway. Just carry spares.


Plans
  • Find some talented person to make a proper motorcycle model.
  • improve handling with some custom control code
  • add shadows
  • add electric version - Save fuel, which the regular ones don't need much of anyway, by crafting with much more expensive parts! What could possibly go wrong?
  • add recipes and technologies and other things that sensible mods should have.

whoops. Just realized the .zip was referencing an icon from my experimental mod's graphics dir. fixed the file in-place, apologies to those who tried it and got the borked version that wouldn't load.

:update:

been testing in MP with Narc, they work nicely, other than the steering-assist being twitchy for some reason. These things are so much fun ^_^

i would suggest PMing YuokiTani, he has AWESOME models for his mod and he offers himself to make models for other mods as well, i bet he would be happy to help u with it

You are no less than the 5th person to volunteer YuokiTani's name XD I may well ask him at some point - I have seen his work, and it is quite high-quality - just thought I'd see who might step forward of their own accord first.

Is anything happening with this mod?

Is it even enabled? What do I have to invent to be able to build these beasts?

GopherAtl's been stolen away from us by other games, but in the meantime if you want to try this WIP mod, you need to give it to yourself by console:

Words of advice: don't bother putting in more than one unit of fuel (they last forever), and definitely be prepared to give yourself more of them.

I guess the most difficult thing when it comes to creating that model for the deathcycle is the player model on it. So if i where to volunteer then i would most likely go for some kind of model that is inspired by the tron bike 2nd generation :)!
