Maybe inserter desk-lamp?

pixellated iron/copper plate mousepads
Research lab nightlight
lamp nightlight
assembler footrest or stool
laser turret laser-pointer
train desk organizer. The cargo doors slide open and reveal your cargo of paper clips.
Or just even a model train.

Submit your factory and get it printed as a mousepad/poster/etc

Just some ideas, and I'm not really all that creative...
Steam engine toaster :D

I don't think factorio needs real life merchandise, it would be a waste of money and time since the game is not popular yet. A lot of companies try this method for income to continue development but in a lot of cases this does not pan out for the company. Lets take warframe for example a highly popular game that has real life merchandise. Warframe has scarfs, t-shirts, pants, hats, dolls, jackets, & something they call plushie. I went to Tennocon in NY there must have been at least 2000 people in there. Not one person had any of the merchandise, its too expensive they are selling t-shirts for $30dollars, scarfs for %50, Warframe collectible statues, for $60, & jackets for $80.

Its overpriced and people don't want to pay that steep price its crazy & I don't blame them I wouldn't. I think coming out with merchandise for factorio would kill the developers budget and they would run out of money to continue working on the game. The game needs priority focus and merchandise is a whole other game to play.

Rubber/ink stamps for planning out factory designs on paper, but more consistently and... automated... than drawing by hand. Ideally, sized to fit common graph paper dimensions, e.g. 1/4 inch per tile edge.

I'd love to be able to stamp down some non-specific assemblers, and add an item icon for the product using another stamp (though this may not be realistic given the variety of items). It would also be cool to use inserter / assembler / belt tile / splitter / underground stamps of different colors / with different color inks to denote tier.

Taking it a step further, rolling stamps of smaller versions of icons for commonly-belted items.

Personally I'd use them to create my own IRL blueprint book. 8-)

You don't have to look further than here:

http://www.t4u.cz/en/T-Shirts-retail-en.html

For lame the price of a 4 head dinner at a McDonald you get a decent PR article viewed a thousand times - not only by the bearer.

I will never wear a white shirt with that ugly orange domainname (yes, not even a URL, because there's no protocol specified) underneath the awesome factorio logo..

Make the shirt black and leave out the domainname, people know how to Google these days...

I'd like a Factorio logo gear/cog pillow. Would be simple, but still quite original.

Another would be to 3D print lego bricks and parts to create Factorio objects (I'd love a Lego Technics train or a tank, maybe an inserter with the robotics set).

Of course, a regular T-shirt with the logo on it would be a great starting point. Would the devs allow us to go and print our own at services/shops that make prints without fearing about lawsuits and such? :)

I agree, this could help the wallets of the developers and overall popularity of the game ^_^

Scale model of the car/tank.
Someone mentioned a steam engine toaster earlier, I guess that would be cool to.

An excellent source of iron!

The inserter desk lamp is a nifty idea, since they are articulated in similar ways.
But a USB powered "lamp" lamp ought to be simpler and more universal. And there will shortly be a mod for wiring in-game control signals to it.

Yep, both good ideas.

On the subject of lamps and lights, why not a biter spawner with glowing bits.
You could also have a biter model with glowing red eyes, or a furnace with glowing flames.
For the electric furnace, however, you could make it an actual electric heater!

You could have a remote controlled car and tank and a line of drones, either based on the attack models, logistic or construction.

Think nuclear!
Back to lights you could have a glowing nuclear fuel rod!

The possibilities are endless! :)

I'd love and would buy an enamel pin of the Factorio logo font, or even just the stylized gear!

Let me quickly grab a video...

There you go: Link removed.

That's a video from the guy you are just reading a post of.
As you might know that guy is German so I asked him to write some subtitles in English so everyone can understand what he says.

Well yeah, there you have a video of... me... unboxing some parcel.
Activate subtitles for fancy translation and please don't get eye cancer by looking at my face, I know I'm ugly.
(I see it was a good idea last week to finally translate that thing...)
