Link followed by two spaces and newline flows into the next line

If I post a line consisting of a URL followed by two spaces, a newline, and some text on the next line in a comment on the mod portal then the URL flows into the next line instead of ending on the line break.
I.e. in this comment on the portal I posted the following
But the url somehow merged into "Some" on the next line despite being separated by a line break.
