Ok, maybe this is somewhere in the forum, but honestley after a few years of gameplay Im not going to go look for it.

The simple fact? In a car on on foot my guns are not firing. And the only thing that keeps me happy in a bitter infestation is constant gun firing.

Ive tried the car mg, the on-foot mg, and the rocket launcher (my personal fav). Yet nothing shoots out of whichver gunmetal gray tube i point at the bad guys.

I can provide a save game and more detail if desired.

And its a biter, not a beverage

Is this occurring with the space bar and c?

Or have you mapped the fire button and forgotten the key?

I went into controls this morning and it was the spacebar that was set.

So I remapped it to spacebar (nothing like a little reaffirmation in life) and it seems to be working again, if not with a bit of delay that I hadnt felt was there at the start.

You have 3 gun slots, only one of which is selected at a time. You can tab between weapons as long as more than one has ammo. Possibly you accidentally tabbed to your second weapon, which had a small amount of ammo, then used all of that ammo. Your first weapon still has ammo, but will not fire until you tab off your second weapon? This can happen in vehicles too, but actually, it's unlikely you had the same problem occur twice, so it's more likely your fire button was remapped.
