Gun Collision Boxes

Post by MakeItGraphic »

Guns when on the ground, in real life you usually can step over a gun pretty easily. But the only gun I can run over without becoming stuck is the pistol. Which is the only one that shows a collision rectangle and only takes up 1 tile. Where all other guns seem to use 4 tiles and it gets stuck on the cross-hairs. Running around all willy nilly you really don't become stuck a ton, and you can easily run around them. And anything else I drop doesn't take up this many tiles so that's most likely the issue. Intended or not?

*The video is super laggy as pc is over heating and causing hardware to fail, took a few tries just writing to disk. so hopefully its clear enough

EDIT: receive error parsing server response when uploading :///

Not sure what you're talking about. All the guns when placed on the ground take up no space. Are you talking about the turrets? They're supposed to take up space. They do IRL too if you set up anything similar.

Have it different by

Code: Select all

/c game.print(serpent.line(game.player.selected.collision_mask))
?
(Select the item while the console command)

Which mod is that, or something you are making yourself?

You shouldn't collide with any dropped/world item, but maybe they are made into structures or something for some reason?

Are you sure it is the gun you are colliding with and not that wooden "table"?

Item-on-ground does not usually collide with the player, so some mod must be messing it up. Without a savegame or at least modlist there's not much we can do.

Try hovering your mouse over the item until the yellow selection box appears, then type:

Code: Select all

/c print(game.player.selected.type .." ".. serpent.line(game.player.selected.prototype.collision_mask))
It should say

Code: Select all

item-entity {["item-layer"] = true}
for all of them.

All right, thanks! I made a copy of factorio and right you are they're not supposed to be that big ever! It is mostly likely rampant arsenal doing this

EDIT: it's not rampant and I have too many mods to really narrow it down, thanks for reassuring this is a mod issue.
